Princess Peach Showtime Demo

First Swordpressions

Before I started playing the demo, I heard that it was super easy. I decided to try it out for myself to see how it plays. To start with the visuals and animations look really nice. The game play is pretty easy in just getting through the level, but it seems like it will take some genuine skills to be able to complete the game and get everything. So kind of like a Kirby game in terms of difficulty. The first level is really easy and I did get almost everything except one star piece that I missed. The are many star pieces in a level and a ribbon piece too, along with coins that you can collect. So getting everything in the sword fighter level would be easy, I just didn’t feel like going back through it. I’ll get it in the full game when it comes out. As for the swordfighting, it was easy b smashing for the little regular enemies. The armor enemy, I don’t know how I won, I just did, but I didn’t figure out the trick to winning, before I beat him. The final boss I figured out that the dodging is the important part. Even when not understanding what the game wants you to do, none of theses fights were hard or challenging. Now most would put that against the game, though it is just the tutorial level. It’s supposed to be the easiest level in the game. This was just the first level of the sword fighter play, there will probably be more harder levels with this ability.

Peachy Baking

The second and last level of the demo is a baking level. It of course is easy to just get through the level, but has way more places that you can miss star pieces and the ribbon. I missed the first few enemies that you are supposed to hit and restarted. If I had kept going I would have missed the ribbon, which is the main collectible. the baking minigames are hard to master. The criteria to make it to the next part is easy, but actually getting all the stars from doing it well enough, would take several tries to get them. I didn’t even have time to finish decorating the last cake. This is why I think it can pose a good challenge for people trying to get everything. If you just wanna get through the level, then yeah, the game will probably end up being to easy for you. Unless you’re a kid or just want a cozy game, then the easiness might be enjoyable to just casually go through the levels. Though I think going for completion would add enough difficulty for most casual gamers to enjoy it.
